WE’RE COMING BACK!
Being a public-facing project, we have been following official advice during the Covid pandemic and had to suspend our sessions for a time. The good news is that we are slowly reopening now, and hope to be offering a good range of drop-in sessions in the autumn, Covid permitting, and we are going to be operating from a few new venues too. Sessions will gradually appear on the calendar as they reopen.
In the meantime, we can still offer telephone support if you are unable to attend one of our drop-in sessions. If you would like help please call us on 0118 334 1095 – please leave your details and one of our team will call you back.
Did you know that nearly 20% of the UK’s population still has no access to the internet? Here in Reading we have plenty of IT specialists, with the European headquarters of several large hi-tech companies such as Microsoft and Symantec in the area, but in some areas of the town the proportion of the population without internet access is still much worse than the UK average.
Get Online Reading aims to use Reading’s highly literate population to help those who don’t have the skills or opportunity to make use of the internet.
We run drop-in sessions in several of Reading’s central libraries and other community venues all over the town. Look out for a drop-in session near you – and if you know anyone who would benefit from our help why not suggest that they come along?
This site has information on our many drop-in sessions, and you can also download a flyer that lists our regular sessions. You can download the flyer here.
